Odds and Ends

There is a small store on a corner in Manehatten that claims to have something for everyone.  It's not very big, a two story space at bottom of a sky scraper.  The sign on the second story of the building says "Odds and Ends: Small Store and Design."  It looks relatively old, and in need of a good dusting, or a light shower to make the sign seem new once more.  "Everyone welcome!" A small hanging sign says.  On the door, a little flip sign attached to the door says "Open."  A larger than average griffon sits at the cash register.  He is wearing an eccentric pair of pointy shades and a white shirt with an orange cap on it.  He looks bored and ready to talk to ponies looking for goods.

"H-hi" a Small Filly walks in

Kot looked up from the book he was reading and smiled. He closed the book and carefully moved it to the side. He opened his mouth and said, "Good Afternoon, young pony! How may I be of assistance to you on this fine day?"

"Umm...Y-yes my name is Aqua Flare and I'm looking for a necklace...

Kot moved from behind the counter, and walked over to the small pony. "Well, miss Aqua Flare, we do have a wealth of necklaces over here." He guided Aqua Flare over to the jewelry section. "Maybe you can find what you wish over here?" Kot said happily.

Aqua looks at the wide assortment of necklaces and spots a blue and red one "That one! That One!" she points to it.

Kot reached up and grabbed it for the small pony. "Do you mean this, young one?" He gave it to the filly.

She takes it and looks at it "How much is it?" she asked quickly and peppy.

"Hurm..." Kot said, putting a talon to his chin. "I'd normally say ten bits, but for you, I'll go to three!" Kot said happily.

"I can pay full price." Pulls out a sack that was in her bag and gives Kot 10 bits "My mom always said don't take anything for less for what you see it as."

"Humm. Your mom sounds like a good person." Kot opened the bag and saw the bits. He put the bag on the counter and asked, "Is there anything else I can get for you, m'am?"

"Hmm...I think something for a colt I like..." Aqua blushes

"Hurmm..." Kot said. "I see. What type of colt is this young stallion?" Kot questioned.

"He's a Earth Pony" Aqua said still blushing

"Maybe a matching necklace?" Kot said. "Or, maybe a personalized one with something meaningful, like the one I gave my coltfriend?"

"He wouldn't like a necklace he's active so he would like a hoofband" Aqua raised her hoof "Like mine."

"Hurmmm, I see." Kot said. "This way." Kot said, walking over to a different part of the store. Kot picked up a box of bands. "What about one of these? If none of these seem to be the type he'd wear, we have a place where you can design something new."

Aqua gasped and grabbed a Blue and Orange one that says "Never give up and never stop loving" "perfect" Aqua said

Kot smiled and said "Glad you could find what you were looking for!" He looked at the side of the bin and put it back. "I hope he likes it!" the griffon said. "A great choice, really."

"Thank you how much is it?" Aqua asked

"Oh, the ten bits you gave me eairlyer will cover it. It's a barter shop, so there are no set prices here." Kot said.

"Wow thank you! I'll make sure to tell my friends about this place!" Aqua puts the band in her bag.

"No problem!" Kot said happily. "I'm always glad when a customer is happy with their service!~"

"Keep up the good work!" Aqua leaves the shop.

Kot smiled happily and sat down back at the desk, and opened the book again, passing the time until another person found their way into his shop.
